DSS bars Fani-Kayode, journalists from witnessing Kanu’s trial

Operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS) prevented Femi Fani-Kayode, former minister of aviation, from entering the federal high court in Abuja to witness the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Fani-Kayode had attempted to enter the court but the security operatives blocked him.

The DSS men, who were at the entrance of the court, did not also allow journalists to witness the proceedings.

But Ayo Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, is currently inside the court.

Kanu is being tried for treason. Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi, other pro-Biafra agitators, are also on trial.

Binta Nyako, the presiding judge, is expected to rule on rule on application for the bail of the accused persons.
