FRSC recalls sector commander for cutting hair of female officials

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recalled Andrew Kumapayi, commander of the Rivers state sector command, for cutting the hair of female officials.

Pictures of Kumapayi cutting the hairdo of the female officials during a general inspection had surfaced on the internet on Monday.

The inspection was carried out at the FRSC headquarters in Port Harcourt.

The female road marshals were reportedly accused of sporting long hairs which prevented their caps from sitting well on their heads.

Bisi Kazeem, FRSC’s head of media and strategy, on Tuesday, told journalists that Kumapayi and other officers involved in the act had been recalled.

Kazeem said that Kumapayi’s action was outside the mandate of the commission.

The FRSC official said that the commission will mete out appropriate sanctions to the officers involved after due investigation.

  1. Power toxic ate some Nigerians and sometimes fell on the way side during their tenure of office. A Zone Commander feels that all powers belong to him and he could humiliate, disgrace, disparage his subordinates at will. His behavior is unethical, uncivilized and power drunk. I wish the ladies affected should contact their lawyers, sue him and FRSC, claim damages. He should be shown the way out of service

    1. It is very easy for u to rant ur mouth because u know nothing about the military or paramilitary services. The officers involved knew that it wasn’t right to wear long hair that would run over their shoulders in the first place. They weren’t forced nor begged to join the corps. If they want to be a corps members, then they should learn to act like one.

  2. The River state sector commander is power drunk. This very bent officer needs to be behind bars. He’s above the law. The ladies are due BIG DAMAGES, if this has happened in the Western World, SAN’s and newspapers would offer them 7 figure payment in order to take-on their case. The ladies & lawyers would be smiling all the way to the bank.
