The All Progressives Congress (APC) says Victor Giadom, an ally of Rotimi Amaechi, a former minister of transportation, remains its vice-chairman in the south-south geo-political zone.
The zonal committee had announced the sack of Gaidom and Ita Udosen, its secretary, after a meeting on Saturday.
Members of the zonal committee had accused them of sabotage.
In a statement on Monday, Felix Morka, spokesperson of the APC, said the action of the zonal committee members was not lawful and there null and void.

“The attention of the APC has been drawn to media reports regarding a statement credited to some members of the South-South Zonal Executive Committee of the Party purportedly removing Chief Victor Giadom and Chief Ita Udosen from their positions as Chairman and Secretary of the Zonal Executive Committee, respectively,” Morka said.
“The action of the individuals, who are also signatories to the statement issued in the name of south-south zonal executive committee, is without lawful or constitutional authority, therefore a nullity, and should be disregarded.
“Giadom and Udosen are, and remain, the south-south zonal vice-chairman and secretary of the party, respectively.”
