Hamza Abdullahi, former governor of Kano state and one-time minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has died in Germany.
The retired air vice marshal (AVM) served as military governor of Kano state from 1984 to 1985, while President Muhammadu Buhari was military head of state.
The former minister died in Germany on Wednesday, sources confirmed to TheCable.
Also confirming the news of his exit, the Hadejia Emirate of Jigawa, his home state, said it is saddened by his exit.

“Innalillahi wa inna’ilahirraju’un. It is with sadness that we share the news that AVM. Hamza Abdullahi, yesterday died in Germany,” the emirate tweeted.
“We pray Almighty Allah forgive him, grant him maghfira, illuminated his grave, and enter him in to janna and may he forgive us when our time comes.”
Abdullahi was also minister for works and housing under the military administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Newswatch, the two-time minister completed the aircraft technical officer’s Course in West Germany in 1966, and studied at the Royal Military Training Centre in Chichester, England in 1974.
He was responsible for the construction of Abuja Phase I project prior to the time the city became the capital of Nigeria.
