Maharazu Tsiga, ex-NYSC DG, abducted in Katsina

Maharazu Tsiga, a former director general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has been abducted in Bakori local government area of Katsina state. 

Tsiga, a retired major general, was reportedly kidnapped alongside several residents of Tsiga village. TheCable understands that the incident occurred around midnight on Wednesday.

Details of the abduction were sketchy at the time of filing this story.

Abubakar Aliyu, spokesperson of the Katsina police command, was yet to respond to TheCable’s requests for comments on the incident.

There has been an uptick in the spate of abductions for ransom in Nigeria’s northern region in recent times.
