The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has revoked the air operator certificates of Eastwind Aviation Logistics Services Limited and Omni-Blu Aviation.
NCAA announced the decision in a post on X on Friday.
“The Authority has determined that both Omni-Blu Aviation and Eastwind Aviation are in violation of Part 1.2.1.5 of Nig. CARs on Falsification, Reproduction, or Alteration of Applications, Licences, Certificates, Logbooks, Reports, or Records,” the post reads.
“Part 1.2 1.5(b) of Nig. CARs provide the sanction for such fraud as revocation of the certificate.

“Consequently, the respective Air Operator Certificates OBA/AOC/12-15/002 and EAL/AOC/03-24/001 are hereby revoked.”
A helicopter operated by Eastwind Aviation and carrying eight individuals crash-landed off the coast of Bonny Finima in the Atlantic Ocean on October 24.
There was no survival.

Also, on April 18, 2021, a helicopter belonging to Enoch Adeboye, general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and operated by Omni-Blu Aviation, was reportedly grounded by NCAA over safety issues.
On January 28, the NCAA also announced Max Air will suspend operations for three months on January 31 after the company’s aircraft crash-landed at the Mallam Aminu International Airport, Kano.
The aircraft lost its landing gear tyre during landing, leading to the incident.
Providing an update in a statement on January 29, Max Air assured the public that the situation was professionally managed, with all passengers and crew safely evacuated, adding that there were no injuries.

NCAA said the suspension of operations will enable Max Air to conduct an internal appraisal of its operations.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) also announced that the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has launched a probe into the landing gear failure.
