Obaze defeats Oduah, Ubah, clinches Anambra PDP ticket

Oseloka Obaze has been declared winner of the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra state.

Obaze polled 672 votes to defeat other aspirants like Ifeanyi Ubah, chairman of Capital Oil, and Stella Oduah, senator representing Anambra north.

About 958 party delegates participated in the election.

The exercise is coming a day after the All Progressives Congress (APC) held its own primary election in the south-eastern state.

Tony Nwoye, a member of the house of representatives, won the party’s ticket, defeating Andy Uba, senator representing Anambra south.

The governorship election, which is scheduled for November 18, is expected to be tight race among political heavyweights in the state.

Besides, Obaze and Nwoye, other key candidates are Willie Obiano of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, and Osita Chidoka of the United Progressives Party.
