A lady identified as the wife of Abba Kyari, suspended deputy commissioner of police (DCP), on Monday, fainted at the federal high court in Abuja.
She slumped shortly after Emeka Nwite, the trial judge, adjourned the criminal matter for ruling on the bail application brought by Kyari and his co-defendants.
The woman, who wore a black hijab, collapsed to the floor while armed operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) were leading Kyari and others out of the courtroom.
She was immediately carried and rushed into one of the offices on the third floor of the court by some security operatives and lawyers.

One of the persons that accompanied her to court said she is asthmatic.
She was resuscitated after about 40 minutes.
The NDLEA allowed Kyari stay with his wife for some time before taking him away.

In the charge marked FHC/ABJ/57/2022, the agency accused the defendants of conspiracy, obstruction and dealing in cocaine worth 17.55 kilograms.
