Speaking with TheCable, a coordinator of the protest, Retson Tedheke of Citizens United for Peace and Stability, said that one of the demands of the group “is that the senate return the sports utility vehicles it bought for N35.1m each.”

“We are demanding that the national assembly stop toying with the laws of the country for its own interest,” he said.

“We are asking that they stop playing politics with the budget, and scrap constituency projects because they are fraud. We demand that the national assembly make open its N150bn budget for all Nigerians to see.”

The protesters have vowed not to back down until their demands are met.
