The Nigeria army says its troops are currently in a “fierce” battle with Boko Haram in Borno state.
Sani Usman, army spokesman, disclosed this in a terse statement on his Facebook page on Monday.
“Please be informed that our troops are currently engaged in fierce battle with Boko Haram terrorists at Kareto, northern Borno state. Details later,” he said.
The army has been involved in clearing Boko Haram insurgents out of their hideouts.
