Nigerians everywhere are outraged by the directive of the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) that mobile operators initiate an increased data tariff regime from December 1, 2016.
In a letter to mobile operators dated November 1 and seen by TheCable, the regulator stated that the interim floor price for data services was 0.90k/MB for big operators, and that “this rate will subsist pending the finalisation of the study on the determination of cost-based pricing for retail broadband and data services in Nigeria”.
This will ultimately result in a hike in data prices for consumers across all telecom networks.
Nigerians on Twitter didn’t hide their disdain for the government:

NCC is about to do to data what CBN has been doing to dollars, that we’ve always done to fuel and a big reason power is bad. Price fixing.

Fast forward to October 2015, NCC scrapped the floor price for data. Data prices almost immediately started tumbling to actual market price

Please can somebody just tell me what exactly are we benefiting from this government. I’m surprise that Buhari came in to enslave us, if ordinary data should be increase by the federal government, it means we are finished in this country.
