Aisha Abubakar, the ministerial nominee from Sokoto state, has held a “peace meeting” with the APC stakeholders in the state, led by Aminu Tambuwal, the governor.
The meeting, which was held at the presidential lodge, Sokoto, was at the instance of the nominee who has faced tough opposition from key APC figures in the state.
Apart from coming from the same local government as the governor, Abubakar is also regarded as an “outsider” by the APC leaders in the state who further allege that she is not “competent”.
President Muhammadu Buhari recently met with Tambuwal to seek his support for the development specialist, who is the daughter of Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, a prince of the Sokoto caliphate and former minister of finance.
