Overland Airways recorded a minor mishap at the Ilorin airport on Saturday evening but no lives were lost, TheCable understands.
The tyres of the small aircraft did not disengage on approach to landing at at 4.45pm, forcing the plane to land on its belly and skid off the runway.
The Overland flight 1186 carrying 59 passengers and four crew veered off the runway at low speed after a normal landing at the Ilorin Airport, a spokesman for the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority said.

Why always God only! Thanks be to the Pilots for the wonderful skill and execution required to make a proper belly flop that led to no casualties. Belly flopping especially for a propeller aircraft with the configuration shown above is no joke because the plane has such a high angle of attack required to not stall. Well done the pilots but glory be to God for giving them the skill, the temperament and sparing the passenger’s lives
