The Edo Justice League, a socio-cultural organisation, has criticised the Edo National Voice (ENV) over a comment alleging that the state government withheld the monthly allocations of the Benin traditional council.
Charles Omoregie, convener of the group, in a statement on Thursday, accused ENV of misrepresenting facts about the traditional council and Benin artefacts.
Recently, the ENV, a socio-cultural group in Edo, accused Godwin Obaseki, governor of the state, of withholding three months allocation of the Benin traditional council.
In response to ENV, the Edo Justice League cautioned the group on attempting to create conflict between the state government and traditional rulers.

“We consider it very irresponsible of the ENV led by one Iyamu Osaro to misrepresent facts relating to the Benin Traditional Council (BTC) and the Benin artefacts,” the statement reads.
“The state government is working with all stakeholders in Edo traditional institutions to enhance harmony in the administration of the traditional system in the state.
“We, therefore, caution ENV to desist forthwith from trying to drive a wedge between the government and the traditional institution as this does not serve the good interest of Edo people.”
