The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna has commended Uba Sani, governor of the state, for his “human-oriented” programmes.
In a statement on Tuesday, Salisu Wusono, spokesperson of the party in Kaduna, applauded Sani’s measures to alleviate economic hardship of citizens in the state.
Wusono also said the suspension of Maryam Suleiman, APC women leader in the state, is indefinite.
The APC women leader was suspended after she criticised the governor over his comments on the debt he inherited from the administration of Nasir el-Rufai, immediate past governor of the state.

At the weekend, Sani said he inherited a debt burden of $587 million, N85 billion and 115 contractual liabilities from the administration of el-Rufai.
“These include grants to 7,500 SMEs, support for 5,000 farmers, cash transfers, and food distribution to vulnerable households,” the statement reads
“Additionally, the administration’s strides in promoting financial inclusion and literacy among the 2.5 million unbanked citizens are commendable.

“The successful rescue of the Kuriga School Children underlines the administration’s commitment to enhancing security and safety in Kaduna State.
“Governor Uba Sani’s update on security affairs during the Town Hall, including the establishment of more Forward Operation Bases, instills hope for a safer future.
“In response to recent actions that contravene the APC constitution, the party affirms the indefinite suspension of Hajiya Maryam Suleman (Mai Rusau) as the State women leader and as a member of the All Progressives Congress.
“This decision reinforces the party’s commitment to upholding discipline and integrity within its ranks.”
