Kaduna-bound train crushes twin girls to death in Niger state

A Kaduna-bound train from Abuja has crushed two children to death in Tafa LGA of Niger state.

TheCable understands that the incident happened at about 10 am on Saturday.

The victims, Hassana and Hussaina Baro, were about a year and six months old.

Wasiu Abiodun, a police spokesperson in Niger state, confirmed the incident.

“Information was received that on 24/5/2024, a moving train from Abuja heading to Kaduna crushed two girls named Hassana Baro and Hussaina Baro, who were about one year and six months old, to death while playing on the railway at Kuchiko village, via the New-Bwari area in Tafa LGA,” Abiodun said.

A man was said to have seen kids on the train track but could not rescue them in time before the train reached them.
