Kaduna flags off enrolment exercise for basic health care provision fund

The Kaduna government has flagged off the enrolment exercise for residents into the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCF) initiative in the state.

Speaking during the flag-off of the identification and enrolment exercise for the commencement of the BHCPF programme on Monday, Hadiza Balarabe, the deputy governor, said the fund is part of the commitment of Nasir el-Rufai, the Kaduna governor, towards ensuring human capital development.

Balarabe promised that the first set of 40,000 beneficiaries within the target groups of children under five years, pregnant women, the elderly, and people living with disabilities, will be identified and enrolled at no cost to them.

She added that the establishment of the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA) reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring greater access to healthcare by the people of the state.

The deputy governor also noted that “about 120 enrollees have so far accessed care under the scheme”.
