Former Pillar of Sports, Orji Uzor Kalu, has indicated interest in contesting elections into the board of the Nigeria Football Federation.
Ahead of August’s election, the former governor of Abia State has expressed his desire to contest the position of the NFF president.
“I am interested in becoming the next president of the NFF,” he told sl10.ng.
Currently, the football house is engulfed in controversy with a high court injunction sacking the board chaired by Aminu Maigari.

Elections into the NFF board have already been fixed for August 26, and Kalu has thrown his hat into the contest.
“I will run for the position if the atmosphere is good,” he said.
Kalu, who was the financier of Enyimba of Aba when the team won back-to-back CAF Champions League in 2003 and 2004, said he could achieve a bigger feat with Nigeria if in charge of the football federation.
