Kano anti-corruption agency arrests man for ‘selling 632 plots of land worth N2.3bn’

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) says it has arrested one Musa Salihu Ahmed for allegedly selling 632 government occupancy permits for residential plots worth N2.3 billion across the state.

Speaking to journalists in Kano on Tuesday, Muhuyi Magaji, chairman of the commission, said the suspect was arrested at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on arrival from Saudi Arabia.

According to Magaji, the suspect used a company with the name Lamash to sell plots of land at about N2.5 million each to individuals in Challawa in Kumbotso LGA of Kano.

He said the suspect also sold lands at Dawanau in Dawakin Tofa LGA.

“We are currently investigating the suspect how he was allocated 632 residential plots by the past administration and was allegedly sold to different individuals in the state,” Magaji said.

He said the suspect would be arraigned in a court of law as soon as the investigation was completed.
