Kano APC suspends Buhari’s ex-aide over ‘high handedness’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sharada ward in Kano municipal LGA has suspended Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, a former personal assistant on broadcast media to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Sharada, who is also the chairman of the house of representatives committee on security, was suspended from the ruling party for alleged anti-party activities and “political high handedness”.

According to a statement by Abdullahi Umar Sharada, the party’s ward chairman, the lawmaker has been banned from interfering in the affairs of the APC at the ward level or relating with members of the party for the period of one year.

The statement added that the party had been dealing with a series of complaints brought before it by aggrieved members over Sharada’s alleged high handedness.

The ward chairman added that after a series of meetings held by the party’s exco, it was resolved that Sharada should be suspended immediately.

TheCable gathered that the embattled member had been at loggerheads with many top party members after he allegedly accused them of refusing to register him at the ward level.

He accused them of wanting to “truncate his political ambition”.

Some of the APC members he is allegedly in a cold war with include Abdullahi Ganduje, the state governor; Abdullahi Abbas, the state APC chairman, and Muktar Yakasai, commissioner for special duties.
