Kano-based Chinese declared wanted for murder

The Kano state police command has declared Yang Zhong, a Chinese national, wanted over alleged attempt to murder another Chinese.

Magaji Majiya, the command’s public relations officer, made this known in an interview with NAN in Kano on Monday.

Majiya said Zhong was declared wanted in connection with attempted murder of Wu Haiwang, a Kano-based Chinese businessman, on July 17.

“Yang Zhong, also a businessman, is suspected to be behind the murder attempt made on Mr Wu Haiwang,” he said.

Majiya said Haiwang sustained much injuries.

“As a result, Mr Yang Zhong, holder of Passport No. G58738024, suspected to be the brain behind the murder attempt, has been declared wanted by the police,” Majiya said.

According to Majiya the Chinese embassy has been contacted to assist in tracking down Yang Zhong, who he described as the principal suspect.

He said three other suspects had been arrested and charged to court in connection with the murder attempt while efforts were being made to arrest the remaining suspects.

Haiwang was attacked during a warehouse display of fuel dispensers when four persons arrived at the warehouse in a Volkswagen golf with Registration No. KSF 829AU and posed as customers.
