The Kano state government has directed all public and private schools in the state to reopen on Monday October 13.
In a statement signed by Hadiza Habib, the deputy director, public relations department of the state ministry of education, the government assured the teachers and pupils that it had taken adequate steps to ensure the safety of the schools.
“All schools in the state, both public and private, have been directed to reopen on Sunday and Monday, 12th and 13th Oct. 2014 for boarding and day students, respectively,” the statement, according to NAN, read.
“This will mark the beginning of 2014/2015 academic session.”

The statement, however, directed only SSS 3 students of GGSS Unguwa Uku and GGSS Danzabuwa to resume, while the rest of the students in these schools should await further directive.
The government urged parents, teachers and students to cooperate and complement its efforts towards proving quality education to its citizenry.
