The Kano government has constituted a committee for the 2024 Ramadan Feeding Programme (RFP) in the state.
Aminu Abdussalam, deputy governor of the state, while inaugurating the committee on Wednesday, said the programme is meant to assist residents regardless of their political affiliations.
He implored the committee to strategise on food distribution across designated areas in the state and highlighted the importance of completing the task within five days.
The Ramadan period is a worldwide practice among Muslims that involves fasting for 29 or 30 days. It is expected to commence in the next 18 days.

Abdussalam said previous reports on the programme should be reviewed in order to address challenges.
He said the committee’s terms of reference include identifying key distribution spots within the eight metropolitan LGs and 36 LGAs of the state.
“The committee is to also recommend breakfast menus for the targeted Muslim ummah during Ramadan and identify individuals or groups deserving of government goodwill,” NAN quoted Abdussalam as saying.
