The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has withdrawn its threat to disrupt the November 18 governorship election in Anambra state.
According to Channels Television, the decision was reached after the Ala-Igbo International Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, held a meeting with Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB, in Owerri, Imo state capital.
Uzodinma Nwala, a professor of philosophy and leader of the foundation, told reporters that after much deliberations, IPOB gave the assurance that it will not disrupt the November 18 governorship election.
Nwala added that the group met Kanu for the first time on the issue and revealed the plans to hold subsequent meetings with him.
