Kashamu unable to prevent PDP’s disciplinary action

The federal high court, Abuja has struck out a suit preventing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from disciplining Buruji Kashamu, senator representing Ogun east.

Kashamu was referred to the PDP’s national disciplinary committee after he was accused of anti-party activities.

The senator was also queried for his alleged involvement in some issues that have made Ogun state chapter of the party unstable.

On Wednesday, Nnamdi Dimgba, the judge handling the case, struck out the suit after he upheld the party’s objection which challenged the competence and validity of the suit filed by the senator.

The judge held that Kashamu’s contentions violated the orders made by the court on August 10 and September 10, 2017, in a pending suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/732/2017.

Dimgba ruled that since the aforementioned suit is ongoing, the senator’s suit challenging disciplinary action by the party is “hasty and premature”.
