The Katsina government says all lands allocated illegally by some officials in  ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) have been revoked.

Ado Yahya, director of human resources for the head of civil service, said this in a circular dated June 6, 2023, and addressed to all MDAs in the state.

The statement was made available to  journalists on Saturday in Katsina.

Yahya said officials of MDAs are not allowed to allocate any land near public buildings, adding that only the government and ministry of land and survey have such rights.

“Government observed with dismay the indiscriminate allocations of lands and carve-outs, particularly around public buildings by some officials of the MDA’s,” NAN quoted Yahya as saying.

“To this end, all such practices must be stopped forthwith as only the government through the ministry of lands and survey have the statutory right to allocate all lands in the state.

“In addition, all lands allocated indiscriminately without following due process are hereby revoked.”
