Gudaji Kazaure, a member of the house of representatives from Jigawa state, has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket that will enable him to seek a third term in the lower legislative chamber.
Kazaure currently represents the Kazaure/Roni/Gwiwa/Yankwashi federal constituency in the house.
He was first elected into the lower legislative chamber in 2015.
At the primary held in the constituency, the lawmaker lost to Mukhtar Zanna, local government chairman of Kazaure.

Zanna clinched the APC ticket after securing 89 votes.
Muhammad Zakari, another house of representatives hopeful got 70 votes, while Kazaure came a distant third by polling 26 votes.
Muhammad Alhassan, a retired army officer, and Abdullahi Mainasara, another hopeful, secured eight and seven votes, respectively.

Kazaure is said to be at loggerheads heads with Muhammad Badaru, governor of Jigawa, and leaders of the APC in the state.
