Kebbi deputy governor’s son dies in auto crash

Muazu Ibrahim Aliyu, son of deputy governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu, has died.

Muazu died in an auto accident on Tuesday on the Birnin Kebbi-Jega road.

Addressing newsmen at his official residence in Birnin Kebbi, the deputy governor described his late son as a very religious and obedient boy who respected everyone.

The deceased was a 100 level student of political science at the newly-established Federal University, Birnin Kebbi.

His friend, Mubarak Bagudo, an undergraduate of Alhikmah University, Kwara State, also died in the crash.

“I will forever remember him as somebody close to me,” he said.

“Only one of them [the three friends] survived the accident and [he] is currently receiving medical attention at the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi.”

Top government officials have been trooping to the residence of the deputy governor to sympathise with his family.
