The kidnappers of Damishi Sango, chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau state, have demanded a ransom of N100 million for his release.
A source told TheCable that the kidnappers contacted Sango’s family on Thursday afternoon to make known their demand.
“Those holding him called this afternoon. They used his phone to reach the family,” the source said.
Sango was kidnapped on Wednesday afternoon on his way to Abuja ahead of the PDP national convention scheduled for December 9.

A former minister of sports, he was kidnapped alongside his son, police orderly, driver and Emmanuel Makni, a former factional chairman of the PDP in Plateau.
The sad incident happened along Jere Road in Kaduna state.
Earlier on Thursday, Aliyu Mukhtar, spokesman of the Kaduna command, told TheCable that the police received a distress call around 6pm on Wednesday.

He said the special anti-kidnapping team and the special tactical team had been despatch to rescue them.
“The inspector-general of police’s (IGP’s) anti-kidnapping team and the special tactical squad has swung into action to rescue the victims and arrest the hoodlums,” he had said.
