Remy Uche, the national leader of the Knights of St. John International (KSJI), has encouraged Christians to show love during the Christmas period.

Uche said this in his Christmas/New Year message made available by Abuchi Anueyiagu, chief of staff to the KSJI president.

He said it is necessary that Nigerians show love to one another for national peace, security and development.

Uche added that in the spirit of Christmas, Nigerians should be compassionate to one another as Jesus Christ was to the whole world.

He said this will help to reduce the high level of distrust and hatred troubling the country, adding that it is responsible for some of the social vices in Nigeria.

The KSJI president said without love, Nigeria will continue to polarise and operate along tribal, sectional and religious divisions, thus leaving peace out of sight.

Uche, who advised Christians and Muslims alike to eschew differences orchestrated by politicians for selfish gains, also encouraged Christians to show love to Muslims.

He further asked Christians to use the Christmas season to invite people of other faiths to celebrate with them, as well as show acts of charity, especially to the needy.
