Kogi appoints Yakubu Abdulhakeem as executive secretary of disability commission

Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi, has appointed Yakubu Abdulhakeem, a spinal cord injury survivor, as the executive secretary of the Kogi state Office for Disability Affairs (KOSODA).

The new KOSODA boss commended the state governor for finding him suitable for the office, and for seeing disability inclusion as germane.

“I would like to express my gratitude to His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for appointing me, Comr. Yakubu Nasir Abdulhakeem as the new Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Office for Disability Affairs,” Abdulhakeem said.

“This appointment is not just an honour but a significant opportunity to advocate for and uplift the disabled community in our state.

“I also want to take this moment to acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable efforts of our esteemed ‘Big Mummy’, the Kogi state accountant-general.

“Her steadfast support has made a profound impact on my life and the lives of many within the disability community in Kogi state.”

Before his appointment, Abdulhakeem was president of the Kogi Central Persons with Disabilities Association and chairman of the Kogi state chapter of the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Nigeria (SCIAN).
