Kogi has sought collaboration with the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) to improve the standard of technical and vocational education in the state.

Ahmed Ododo, the state governor, met with Pauline Ajibili, the state coordinator of NABTEB, in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Ododo, who was represented by Joel Salifu, the deputy governor, described education as the beacon of society.

He said technical and vocational education plays fosters self-reliance among individuals in the state.

The governor said there is a need to embrace contemporary trends in technical vocational education.

He argued that any society resistant to such advancement would be left behind.

Ododo pledged to engage with relevant stakeholders to facilitate the realisation of NABTEB’s goals and objectives in the state.

He lauded the ongoing collaboration with the federal government to leverage national policies on technical/vocational training.

The governor affirmed the state’s dedication to advancing vocational and technical education for the good of the people.

In an earlier address, the NABTEB coordinator expressed gratitude to Kogi government for supporting its May and June NTC-NBA examination for candidates from the State Government Technical College.

Ajibili appealed for the establishment of additional technical schools in the state.
