Friday Nwankwo Kujah, fondly called ‘Soccer Ambassador,’ has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to expedite action on his petition against Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, former Super Eagles captain.
Kujah had in 2016 petitioned the EFCC, alleging fraud and breach of a contractual agreement by Okocha. He had also demanded a probe of the ex-footballer.
He had claimed in the petition that Okocha schemed him out of emoluments and cumulative payments due to him as a member of the board of directors in a Lagos-based bureau de change.
Kujah had in the petition insisted that he single-handedly registered the bureau de change and deserved benefits and dividends for his efforts.

But the petition, it was gathered, has not been attended to since then.
On November 9, Kujah had served the EFCC a reminder which was signed by Chukwuemeka Israel Dinne, his counsel.
Kujah had in the reminder wondered why his petition has been dragging while enjoining the new leadership of the EFCC to swiftly address the matter.

“Okocha should not be too big for the EFCC to investigate and no one should be too small to lodge a petition against him, provided such petition is valid,” Kujah was quoted as saying in the petition.
Meanwhile, Okocha has kept mum over the said petition despite the fact that it has continued to make the headlines.
When TheCable sent a Whatsapp message to the former PSG and Bolton Wanderers midfielder on Monday, he did not respond. Two further calls to him on Tuesday also went unanswered.
TheCable investigation revealed that Okocha and Kujah have been associates for about three decades during which they engaged in several mutually beneficial deals, most of which were however initiated by Kujah.
