Kumuyi set to visit Boko Haram-ravaged Adamawa christians

Williams Kumuyi, general overseer and founder of the Deeper Life Bible Ministry, will visit Adamwa state next week Tuesday to “strengthen the church and identify with the people” over persistent attacks by Boko Haram insurgents.

He will also hold a special meeting residents of the state, “irrespective of religion”.

Adeniyi Hassan, a pastor and overseer of the church in Adamawa, who made this known in Yola at a news briefing, also revealed that the church had so far expended about N7.6 million on Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.

The briefing focused on activities lined up for the July 14 visit of Kumuyi.

Hassan said the church was concerned about the plight of the people affected by the insurgency and would continue to do its best to assist them.

“He (Kumuyi) called and expressed his passion to visit Adamawa state to strengthen the church as well as identify with the people and the government on our plight,” Hassan said.

“He felt the need to come and encourage, impress it on the people of Adamawa to be strong and stand so that with his prayers, God can bring solution to the situation in the land.”

The state overseer said that Kumuyi would preach in Yola, Numan and Mayo-Belwa towns.

Hassan said that on arrival in Yola, Kumuyi would hold a special gathering of church members and the people of Adamawa, irrespective of religion.

He said the programme entitled, ‘It is Now Time for Total Recovery and Restoration’, would have a positive influence on the state.
