Kwankwaso: Nigeria needs the right leader

Rabiu Kwankwaso, senator representing Kano central, says with the right leader, Nigeria will be the right place for everyone.

Kwankwaso, a presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said this on Monday during a courtesy call on Okezie Ikpeazu, governor of Abia state, at government house, Umuahia.

According to NAN, the presidential aspirant was in the state to solicit the support of PDP stakeholders toward his political ambition.

He said the country needs a leader that has the time and commitment to ensure that there is equity.

“This country needs somebody who understands the challenges of every ethnic and religious group and carry everyone along,” he said.

“Somebody who has time and commitment to ensure that there is equity. I believe if we have the right person, this country would be the right place for everyone.”

He said there is need for the nation’s constitution to be amended in order to reflect the needs of the people at any particular time, saying every part of the country has its peculiar needs.

Kwankwaso was among the 14 senators who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP.
