Kwara women protest against violence in Ilorin

Hundreds of Kwara women hit the streets of Ilorin on Monday to protest against the recent violent clashes between members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The latest of the attacks happened within different parts of Ilorin, including Agbaji – the family compound of Senate President Bukola Saraki.

Clad in black attires, the women led by Rahmat Oganija, a market leader, went to the Agbaji compound to commiserate with the people.

He assured the women that the government would do everything possible to ensure peace in the state.

Ahmed said some of the perpetrators had been identified and would soon be apprehended.

Oganjia pleaded with the government to ensure the security of lives and properties and protect the residents from desperate politicians who are “out to seize power by all means”.
