An array of top schools in the United Kingdom are expected in Nigeria to participate in a boarding school exhibition.

The UK Boarding School Week exhibition, in its 10th edition, will be held in Lagos and Abuja between September 19 and 24.

The exhibition is being put together by Mark Brooks Education in conjunction with the UK’s department for business and trade.

Its organisers say the Lagos run will include an education networking reception and concert on September 20 at The Wheatbaker in Ikoyi.

An exhibition will then follow on September 21 from 1 pm to 5 pm, also at The Wheatbaker Hotel in Ikoyi.

The organisers said there will be a mini exhibition and reception at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja on September 23, from 4 pm to 7 pm.

The events, they said, will feature training and workshops at schools in Lagos and Abuja.

They said these events are poised to establish partnerships that the principal organisations and academic institutions will benefit from.

Among the 14 top schools attending are Cardiff Sixth Form College, Cheltenham College, Culford School Downside School, Kingswood School, Lancing College, LVS Ascot, Mount Kelly, and Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate.

Others are Roedean School, Brighton, York, TASIS The American School in England, Truro High School for Girls, and Wellington School.

“The schools range from all-girls to sixth form colleges, specialists in sports, to international providers, institutions on the edge of a city, to those in the heart of the countryside,” the organisers said.

“The establishments that have been specially invited to attend are those who consistently show a commitment to Nigeria.

“They demonstrate a quality track record in providing an excellent education, sector-leading resources and boarding, alongside superb pastoral care. Many of the schools currently or recently have enjoyed having a Nigerian student as their head boy or head girl.”
