The Lagos house of assembly has passed a resolution to alert Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the state governor, on “recent killings” in the metropolis.
During plenary on Tuesday, Kehinde Joseph, the lawmaker representing Alimosho 2, moved a motion of urgent importance over the death of Adeniyi Sanni, an aide to Solomon Adeola, a senator.
Adeola represented Alimosho 2 at the Lagos assembly from 2003 to 2011.
Now a senator representing Ogun west, Adeola alleged that “a syndicate of soldiers” at the Ikeja cantonment is responsible for the death of his aide, whose body with gunshot wounds was found in the Oshodi area.

Sanni was said to have been stopped at a checkpoint in Lagos where he was quizzed on his vehicle particulars.
He had reportedly reached out to his wife to send the documents through WhatsApp, hours before he was pronounced dead.
Reacting to the development, Mudashiru Obasa, the speaker, reiterated the need for an urgent security council meeting.

Obasa said “at least three people have been declared dead, said to be killed by men in either police or army uniforms”.
“I quite agree with the prime mover of the motion to call on the governor to quickly hold a meeting with all heads of security agencies in Lagos state to nip this in the bud,” he said.
The speaker asked Lekan Onafeko, the clerk of the house, to forward the resolution of the house to the governor.
