The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says the Domestic Terminal 1 of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, is now the preferred terminal for passengers after its remodelling.
The general manager, corporate communication, Mr. Yakubu Dati, said on Wednesday that the terminal recorded one million passengers who passed through its between January and August 2014.
However, he did not provide the figures of other terminals.
Going by his figures, passenger traffic dropped from arrivals of 265,142 and departures of 258,845 in Q1 to 241,436 and 242,400 respectively in Q2.

Arik Air, Nigeria’s biggest airline, operates from the terminal.
Dati predicted that the figure could rise in the last quarter of 2014.
He also said three new domestic airlines had concluded plans to commence operations in October.

The general manager said 12,564 aircraft movements were recorded at the terminal during the periods being review.
“A breakdown of the figure shows that a total of 6,198 aircraft arrived at the terminal, while 6,366 departed from it.
“During the first quarter, the terminal recorded a total number of 6,508 aircraft movements.
“During the second quarter of the period under review, the terminal recorded a total of 6,056 aircraft movements,” he said.
