Kelechi Oghene, creative director of House of GMYT, says the company will build the capacity of 1,000 youth and women by 2017.
The fashion entrepreneur and model said this is meant to boost the creative industry in Nigeria.
She said this during the official unveiling of the House of GMYT Complex in Lagos.
Oghene said the academy arm of her organisation will reduce the burden on the government to create jobs.

“The fashion industry is big and vastly improving, and I believe we can explore the creative minds of our youths by first building their skills and engaging them in resourceful activities,” she said.
“Here at House of GMYT, our goal is to stand out among our peers in the industry and I believe that recreating our standards and core values in others will go a long way in growing the industry.”
Kelechi, who is also a brand ambassador for Orange Drugs, said House of GMYT will house couture, academy, salon, bespoke tailoring, garment, interior, events and modeling activities.
