He added that e-police sites with additional cameras were installed at Allen Avenue junction, Ikeja, and Nurudeen Olowopopo road.

Osiyemi said the digital installations will “improve road safety by reducing reckless driving and ensuring efficient traffic flow through real-time monitoring”.

“Checkpoint sites for speed detection are located at Alapere, Ogudu road (80 km/h limit), and Nitel, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way (60 km/h limit); these sites aim to reduce speeding, a leading cause of accidents,” the commissioner said.

“These checkpoint sites are strategically located to detect and deter cases of speeding, which remain one of the leading causes of road accidents.

“E-police sites for traffic violations are located at the Allen Avenue road junction and Nurudeen Olowopopo road.  These sites detect violations like running red lights and illegal U-turns using high-definition cameras.”

The commissioner said running red lights will attract N20,000 fine, while speed limit violation will be punished with N50,000.
