Lagos lawmaker describes Melaye as an ‘irrational rabble rouser’

Wasiu Eshilokun, deputy speaker of the Lagos state house of assembly, has described Dino Melaye, lawmaker representing Kogi west senatorial district, as “an irrational rabble rouser”.

Speaking on Monday when he led 20 of his colleagues to receive some protesters at the assembly complex, Eshinlokun said the alleged threat which the Kogi senator issued against Oluremi Tinubu, senator representing Lagos central, will be discussed at plenary.

He also promised that a letter which the protesters brought along would be transmitted to the president.

“This is what should happen in any decent democracy rather than resorting to self-help. Let me say that we will deliver your message to Mr. Speaker and let me also tell you that we are not unaware of the verbal diarrhea and vituperation of that irrational rabble rouser,” he said.

“I also want to assure you that we will treat this letter on the floor of the House and we will do all that is needful and deliver your message to the appropriate authorities.”

Melaye has been  the subject of severe criticism since last week when the incident happened.
