Lagos LG poll: Chairmanship candidate promises to build 7 PHCs if elected

Moyosore Ogunlewe, All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for Kosofe LGA of Lagos state, has promised to build seven new primary health centers (PHCs) within his first 100 days in office if elected.

TheCable had reported that elections were conducted into the 20 local government and 37 local council development areas (LCDA) of Lagos on Saturday.

Moyosore is the son of Adeseye Ogunlewe, a former minister of works.

Moyosore contested for the state house of assembly seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 and 2019 elections but lost to the APC on the two occasions.

Thereafter, he announced his resignation from the PDP.

Speaking with NAN after casting his vote at ward G, polling unit 041, Ogudu Junior Grammar School, Ogudu GRA, Ogunlewe said his priority, if elected, would be security and healthcare delivery.

The APC candidate noted that Kosofe area lacked sufficient health centres to meet the healthcare needs of the local populace, adding that his administration would address the problem.

“There is a lot to be done; my priority is healthcare and security. I am already speaking to the banks to see how we can raise funds to build proper PHCs,” he said.

“We already have four PHCs but we are planning to have seven PHCs, three wards out of seven do not have PHCs and I think every ward should have a PHC.”
