The Lagos government says it will prosecute 11 workers of the 10 POTS nightclub for allegedly assaulting officials of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA).
Tokunbo Wahab, Lagos commissioner for environment, disclosed on Sunday that the state will arraign the arrested workers on Monday.
The nightclub is located at 2A Admiralty way, Lekki, Lagos.
On Saturday, officials of LASEPA closed down some leisure centres in some parts of Lagos “in response to mounting concerns about noise pollution”.

Some of the affected places are Farmcity, 10 POTS, and The Headquarters.
In a statement on Sunday, Kunle Adesina, spokesperson of the Lagos ministry of environment, said the workers of 10 POTS assaulted LASEPA officials who sealed the club premises over noise pollution.
Adesina accused the workers of removing the agency seal, which was used to secure the club premises.

“The arrested employees removed the seal of LASEPA which was used to secure the premises between 11.11 am and 11.33 am on Saturday, October 14 following enforcement activities,” the statement reads.
“By 12.44pm, when LASEPA operatives returned to the club, it had been reopened and back to business.
“Attempts to reseal the premises were violently resisted by the staffers, inflicting bodily harm on state officials, necessitating the call for reinforcement of security.”
