Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, says Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are “rattled” by the achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The minister said this in reaction to comments credited to the Atiku presidential campaign.
On Thursday, the PDP presidential candidate accused Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using state resources for campaign.
But in a statement on Friday, Mohammed dismissed the allegation of the former vice-president as “acute paranoia”.

He said comments of some people in the PDP campaign are acknowledgements of the administration’s “impressive achievements”.
“In publicising the activities and achievements of the federal government, the federal ministry of information and culture is only
carrying out its statutory role,” the minister said.
“Long before the elections, the ministry has used various platforms, including town hall meetings, to showcase the activities and achievements of the administration.

“We understand that the PDP and the Atiku Campaign Organization have been rattled by the achievements as well as the effectiveness of the campaign to showcase them. We are sorry we can’t help them.”
The minister said it is surprising that the PDP would admit that “the media is awash with video testimonies from Nigerians on the administration’s achievements”.
