Simon Lalong, governor of Plateau, has been named as head of the technical committee examining President Muhammadu Buhari’s position on the tenure extension of executives of All Progressive Congress (APC) across the country.

The 10-man committee was inaugurated by John Oyegun, national chairman of APC, at the party’s national secretariat on Tuesday.

At the last national executive committee (NEC) meeting which held on March 27, Buhari said the extension is against the constitution of the APC.

The president also said he wanted to avoid a legal battle that could jeopardise the party’s cohesion before the 2019 general election.

Others are Ben Uwajumogu, Kabiru Ajana, Elisha Kurah, C. J. N Dakas and Miuz Banire.
