Nigerian singer Lami Phillips was furious at President Goodluck Jonathan’s security detail after leaving an interactive session between the president and entertainers in Lagos on Sunday.
Lami parked her car in front of the congested venue along Eko Hotel road in Victoria Island, and she was less-than-impressed to return and find the tyres deflated.
So President Jonathan was passing Eko hotel & all cars parked on the road had tyres deflated, including mine. Awesome move before elections,” she wrote on Twitter.
President GEJ, I am of d firm opinion that you r a good man. Whoever thought it was a good idea 2 deflate … http://t.co/FWs7GgXSas

I thank God I had my team with me. I would have been alone at night and unsafe. My government should protect me not make me scared.”

She claimed that people from a location across the street witnessed the incident.
“Everyone at the event at at Maison Fareinheit knows it happened. Instead of covering, we should be apologised to and his security detail sanctioned,” she added.
After her tweets, Lami faced criticism from the president’s supporters on Twitter and she had to clarify herself further
“Like I said (for the sake of his blind supporters) I like the president and think he is a good man. But whoever on his team thought this was a good idea should be corrected”.

“Over 10 cars properly parked were victims. I bet the president had no knowledge of this. But this is 2015. What is wrong is wrong. We are not slaves, we are citizens.
“And it’s interesting all those defending the injustice take to name-calling. A real compassionate human would ask if I am ok and safe.”
She later posted a quote from Martin Luther King on her Instagram page that reads: “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
