Lanre Arogundade, director of the International Press Centre (IPC), will launch a book entitled “Media and Elections: Professional Responsibilities of Journalists” on Tuesday.
In a statement, Sanmu Falobi, IPC programme manager, said the launch of the book would take place at Eko FM MultiPurpose Hall, Radio Lagos/LTV premises, Ikeja Lagos.
Falobi said the book is focused on election reporting.
The IPC programme manager said Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), would be the special guest of honour while Babafemi Ojodu, former aide to the president, would be the chairman of the event.

“The list of special guests of honour and co-presenters include the Presidents of Nigeria Guild of Editors, the Nigerian Union of Journalists and the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria,” he said.
“Others are executives of media institutions and regulatory agencies, editors, media scholars and academics and leaders of media development groups.”
Falobi quoted Arogundade as saying that the book derives from his “diverse experience” in journalism.

“AlI I have tried to do is to offer a book that serves the purpose of providing practical understanding on the essentials of professional media reportage of elections and the democratic processes,” Arogundade was quoted to have said.
