Laughter, smiles as Buhari endorses Ondo senatorial candidates

President Muhammadu Buhari endorsed the three Ondo senatorial candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the mega rally the party held in Akure, the state capital, on Tuesday.

The rally which took place at the Moshood Abiola Democracy Park, attracted a lot of dignitaries.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the ruling party; governors of Ekiti, Ogun, Edo states and host governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, were all in attendance.

Party members decked in customised garbs from across the 18 local councils in the state thronged the venue which was filled to capacity.

With no governorship election in the state this year, the president only had to publicly identify with the senatorial candidates and other candidates of the APC at the rally.

The president raised the hands of Tayo Alasoadura (Ondo central), Yele Omogunwa (Ondo south) and Ajayi Boroffice (Ondo north).

The venue became agog immediately Buhari associated himself with Boroffice who had been at loggerheads with the state governor.

There was loud applause and reverberating ovation from all sections of the crowd when Buhari raised the hand of Boroffice. Shouts of “sai Boroffice, sai Baba”, rented the air.

Presenting him the flag, the president said, “Boroffice, my friend, he is my friend, aah…. our good friend who has always been with us, you must return and I know you will.”

At the rally, Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transport and director-general of Muhammadu Buhari campaign organisation called on members of the party in Ondo to unite in other to defeat the opposition party in forthcoming election.
