Eugenie Le Sommer’s first half strike was all France needed to beat England 1-0 in their Group F clash in Moncton at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Aside having each other to contend with, the two sides battled with constant rain and wind in New Brunswick which affected the rhythm of the game.
But France weren’t complaining as they were determined to get their Canada 2015 campaign off to a flying start. And they did from a Le Sommer’s stunning strike in the 29th minute.

In the other group’s game, Mexico almost ran away with a win in their World Cup debut only for Daniela Montoya of Colombia to score a late strike to end the game 1-1 in Moncton.
Veronica Perez had put Mexico ahead in the 36th minute.
